Over the weekend just passed ourselves and Van Den Eynde joined forces to sponsor the 2015 Feeder Challenge on the Gent-Terneuzen canal in the Netherlands. With Many International teams in the participation, this level of angler fishing was extremely high with many of the best feeder anglers in the world taking part. In fact for many it served as a preparation for the upcoming World Feeder Championships, which will take place on the same venue.
During the official practice on Friday the weather conditions were almost tropical with temperatures of 30 degrees. However on the opening day the temperature dropped and the wind blew very strong making it very difficult conditions to fish in and meant that every fish would be precious!
On day two the conditions were much better with a light breeze and a pleasant temperature, however the fishing was still very difficult, but better than the day before. At the end of the two days fishing the results were very close but the eventual winners were the Netherlands North, followed by Preston England in 2nd and the Barnsley Blacks in 3rd. On the individual front UK angler Eddy Briddon took the win with our very own Torsten Kusters (representing Team Germany) taking 2nd (for the 2nd year running) with 3rd place going to Jens Dirksen.
The whole event was a massive success and enjoyed by all that attended. We would like to extend a special thanks to Patrick Vanhoo, Jan Van Schendel, and Van Den Eynde for helping to make the event possible plus of course all of the volunteers of O.N.I from Terneuzen for helping out as well.
